The White House, Social Media, and the State of the Union

I am very impressed with the White House’s evolving use of social media with each State of the Union Address. Today they have all the items you would expect:

“Once again, we will be streaming an enhanced version of the speech that features graphics, data and stats that highlight the issues thePresident is discussing on WhiteHouse.gov/SOTU. We will also live stream that broadcast through the White House Live App on Facebook, YouTube and our Google+ page.”

But also this new tool:

“…the White House is thrilled to introduce a new tool called Citizen Response that lets you highlight a passage from the State of the Union Address, tell the President how you’re connected to that issue and then share that specific part with your friends.”

Will be fun to see how well the older and newer efforts work tonight. I’ll post some thoughts in comments, feel free to add your reviews, too.
