Firefox Moves To Block Java, Silverlight, Adobe Reader Plug-ins

Frankly a long overdue feature, but welcome.

Browser Plug ins have really seen their day, moving now to full DHTML and Javascript Apps. Firefox choosing the block them all  (unfortunately just almost all) is a wise move. And as one of Steve Job’s key choices was making iOS browsing plug in free, this move by Firefox is just the final nail in the Browser Plug in Coffin. And not a moment too soon.

Firefox will only load plug-ins when a user takes the action of clicking to make a particular plug-in play, or the user has previously configured Click To Play to always run plug-ins on the particular website,” said Coates.
